Steve McLaren's brainwave

The new England manager, Steve McLaren, has had a brainwave. Henceforth, the wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of the England team are no longer allowed to accompany their partners to major tournaments. Following press reports of the WAGs' marathon shopping and drinking sprees, McLaren has concluded that their behaviour may have affected the team's performance on the pitch.

That right? So, in addition to Sven, the following are to blame for England's failure to get past the quarter-finals: Cristiano Ronaldo, the Argentine ref, the heat, the lack of water, men in lederhosen (alright, I made that one up), and now the WAGs. In short, everything but the players themselves.

I think a little honesty and self-examination would be a good thing.

Does anyone ever blame the Penalty coach? Do they HAVE a penalty coach? Is there such a thing as a penalty coach? If there isn't, England should invent one.
